A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer My rating: 4 of 5 stars Prince Rhen, heir of Emberfall, is cursed to repeat the autumn of his 18th birthday until a girl falls in love with him. This is however made difficult by the fact that, towards the end of each season, he turns into a beast/monster with no control of who he is and often hell-bent on destroying everything/person around him. Harper is a girl from Washington D.C. Her mother is dying; her brother is in with a bad bunch of people as he tries to make good on his father's debts and look after the family. Harper is often underestimated because she has cerebral palsy, often judged by her physical limitations rather than by what she can do. One day, her life changes as a mysterious man transport her into a magical world. My Thoughts I have to admit I am a sucker for fairytale retellings. A Curse So Dark and Lonely is a Beauty and the Beast retelling. The storyline and the cast of characters themsel
This post is totally not sponsored! But continuing my desire to start blogging casually again, I wanted to share some of my bookish obsessions... I love the book phone cases from chicklitdesigns (I got these from Etsy but you could google them to find their website). They have so many to choose from but this Jane Eyre one (with the patterns, not the pink one with the profile) is my latest one. I have 4 - 2 for previous phones and 2 for my current phone ... ok ok I admit I do have an obsession. If you are not in the US, they can be an investment! But the quality is great, especially with the new cases. They definitely have improved compared to the earlier the cases I have. They are also unique (so you can feel special that you're not sporting a standard leather/pleather/canvas case ... I like to pretend so anyway :-D). Left is their original Jane Eyre design; Right is a 'newer' design.
